St. Petersburg

Since moving to Tampa, we have been dying to go to St. Petersburg’s beach. However, as newbie car-less freshman it seemed impossible to reach. Very spontaneously, we were able to go today! Getting a ride from some upperclassman. The walkway to the beach was a wooden bridge carefully decorated with sunflowers and palm trees. Walking down the beach felt like heaven between our toes, the sand was a soft and rich white. We spread our mexican blanket and ourselves down on the beach. Soaking up the sun until the heat drew us into the ocean. The water was a clean, light and sparkly blue. It’s small waves and wondrous color invited us in to explore. Positioned on the Gulf of Mexico, it was one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever been too. The shore was littered with shells, we collected our favorite ones to serve as the perfect reminder of the amazing day we had at St. Pete. We walked all the down the beach, searching for shells, and climbing the jetties to their tips. As we scaled the jetties we looked into the crystal water and were greeted by schools of fish. Peter jumped in and joined them. After a long walk, we laid out on the mexican blanket and relaxed as our skin baked under the 90 degree sun. It was the perfect beach day and we really hope we are able to return sometime soon!
