St. Patricks Day in Tampa

Despite the bad weather and rain this Saturday, the St. Patrick’s festivities still continued in Tampa. As part of the celebrations, the Tampa bay is dyed, completely, a bright green! The way it was dyed was very interesting, boats cruised around the river spraying an environmentally friendly orange dye that when mixed with salty water turns green. It was very captivating to see a huge body of water amidst a city being green! Curtis Hixon Park, the waterfront park, celebrated St. Patrick’s day with the “River O’green” Festival, featuring Irish music, Guinness, and food trucks with delicious food. Tampa is actually considered to be one of the best cities to celebrate St. Patrick’s day. Admission was free and lots of families and friends came out to celebrate. Personally being from a family with two Irish immigrant parents, it was nice to be able to celebrate and have a piece of home in Tampa. Check out the green river below! Hope you all had a wonderful St. Patrick’s day.
