Being that Saturday was our last full day of spring break, we wanted to make the most of it. After a long day of surfing and being beach bums, we decided to go fishing. We borrowed Peter’s uncle and aunt’s, Robin and Charlene, fishing rods and drove over to a local bait shop. They recommended we go to Sawfish Bay Park, so that is exactly what we did! Peter had to re-teach me how to cast and everything because I have not fished in probably around ten years. Once I got the hang of it, we were both casting in the hope of catching something. Luckily and surprisingly we did, we caught four fish! One of them was even a blow fish which was very interesting! While peter was unhooking it, the fish was blowing itself up as its self defense tactic, definitely not something you see every day! There is a certain excitement that comes with catching a fish. The patience required facilitates the pure thrill you feel while reeling in. We enjoyed fishing mostly because it was an excuse to hang out outside under the warm Jupiter sun.
We encourage you to break out of your comfort zone, do activities you don’t usually do or haven’t done in forever! You might be surprised how fun it will actually be.
