Our school was built in the 1880’s. The main building is Plant Hall, formerly a hotel, and is the epitome of luxury. The top of Plant Hall is decorated with minarets, that you are able to climb to very top off. So today, that is exactly what we did!! First we had to go all the way to fourth floor of Plant Hall, which doesn’t seem too bad but walking up a spiral staircase for four floors gets you pretty winded ;)! Once we got to the fourth floor, a maintenance employee had to unlock the door that leads to the minarets. We had to walk up about five different ladders, made of thin and extremely old wood. It was similar to climbing up an attic. Once we reached the final ladder we climbed up and we’re invited to the top by the bright Florida sun. The top of minaret was an absolutely breath taking view. We were able to see our school from a different perspective, allowing us to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of our campus. Being so high up, we were also able to see the Tampa skyline and bay. For any University of Tampa students we definitely recommend you climb up there at some point during your college experience!
