1. Skydiving

What better way to spend your 18th birthday than jumping out of a plane? On July 25, 2015, we celebrated Zoë’s 18th birthday skydiving. Most beginners lose their skydive virginity jumping from 9,000 feet, but we decided that you have to go big or go home- so we jumped from 14,000 feet! Skydiving was one of the most amazing and fulfilling experiences we have ever had and shared together. It illustrated to us the importance of living life on the edge and living a life with meaning. Skydiving opened our minds to the necessity of embracing every day and living everyday like it is your last.

2. Moving to Tampa

One of the most amazing accomplishments we have had this year! On August 25th, 2015 we packed our bags and memories of New Jersey and hopped on a plane headed for our new lives in Tampa, Florida. Tampa has been nothing short of amazing-providing us with warmth, memories that will last a lifetime, and has brought us closer than ever. It has become our first place for us to call home as a couple and as a result it will always hold a special place in our hearts. We are so excited for the countless memories living in Tampa will continue to bring us.

3. Graduating High School

Many of you may not know, but for the entire duration of our Senior years we were long distance. Peter attended a boarding school, 7 hours away by train. We saw each other as much as we possible could but we missed each other each and every day. We patiently waited all year for each other and could not wait until we graduated high school so we could be together. Being long distance during high school proved just how much we care about each other and how we will never let anything come between us. Since graduation on May 31st 2015 (Peter) and June 19th 2015 (Zoë), we have started school together at the University of Tampa and could not be happier to get to share our lives with each other.

4. Surfing

It’s no secret that Peter’s drive in life is his passion for surfing. Getting peter out of the ocean is like trying to get a fish out of water. He would surf from dawn to dusk everyday if he could. It has been so amazing to see him involved with something that makes him so happy and to watch him grow into an amazing surfer. Even though I wish he would spend more time on land with me, I will always support his drive to be the best surfer he can be. Regardless of the temperature, climate, or season, I will always be his lifeguard and photographer from the beach.

5. New York City Weekends

As previously discussed, during the period in our relationship in which we were long distance, we would meet up periodically in New York City. We would have to choose dates in advance and get permission from our parents. We would sleep over at Peter sister’s or aunt’s apartment, which ever was free for the weekend we were planning. We fell in love with New York, while it served as our halfway meeting point. We explored a variety of different aspects of the city, from the Brooklyn Bridge to the John Lennon Imagine mural in Central Park. Now, whenever we come home from school in Tampa, visiting New York is always on our agenda. It is always great to go back a reminisce on the fun we had in New York.Screen Shot 2015-11-19 at 1.48.05 PM6. Disney World

To celebrate Peter’s 19th birthday on February 14th, 2015 (yes he’s cupid <3), we headed down to Florida to celebrate. As part of the festivities we went to Disney World, for Zoe’s first time! Disney was amazing and it was great to feel like a kid again! For Peter’s birthday dinner, we went to the California Grill, a restaurant located on the top floor of a surrounding hotel. The walls of the restaurant were all glass with a view of Cinderella’s castle. Once the clock struck 10 o’clock, we ate dessert while we watched the firework show over the castle. It was a great way to celebrate a great person’s birthday and a great first time at Disney World.

7. Exploring with Grandpa

My grandfather is from Ireland and only comes to visit every 2 years. When he came to America this year, I was more than excited to make as many memories with him as I could. He came to America for surgery, and once healed, Peter and I took him into New York City to spend the day with him and show him some fun. We explored all over downtown Manhattan and Chinatown. Like any Irish man, he finishes each day with pint a Guinness and had us hunting for a bar he went to 10 years earlier- and surprisingly we found it! Spending time with my grandpa is so special to me and I was so glad to be able to see him this year.

8. Sailing in the New York Harbor

Over the summer, we met Zoe’s aunt Caroline and uncle Marc who had recently purchased a new sail boat yacht. The boat was 50 feet long and equipped with a gorgeous and roomy slick wooden interior. It held two queen-sized bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, both indoor and outdoor dining areas, unanimously fit for a king. Powered by solar and wind turbine energy, it was so efficient Caroline and Marc were seriously considering selling their house in Bayonne to live on it full time. Sailing, we viewed the New York skyline, the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island. We stared at the view ahead observing the buildings we usually climb on and take for granted. Sometimes it can be very fulfilling to look at things with a new perspective.

9. Cocoa Beach

One the biggest struggles we face as freshman is not having a car. While we have been able to do and see a lot of Florida, it doesn’t come easy! As soon as we chose the University of Tampa, Peter made it a goal of his to make his way to Cocoa beach. Known for some of the best waves on the east coast, he couldn’t wait to go. We had to rent a car and spend 2 nights in Downtown Orlando, but we made it there. It was amazing to see Peter accomplish a goal and get to happily surf!

10. Riding Camels

When life gives you the opportunity to ride camels- ALWAYS say yes! While we spent a long weekend in New York City for post prom, we were looking for all things fun and relaxing. As animal lovers and frequent adventurers, we could not turn down riding camels while at the Bronx zoo.

11. Natural Florida Springs

During our time in Florida, one of the most amazing and special memories we have made has been time spent at natural Florida springs. Witnessing water so clean and blue makes you appreciate the beauty of nature. Nothing makes you feel more at peace that a day spent kayaking down a river of crystal clear water. We hope 2016 will allow us to experience more Florida springs!

12. Navesink River Adventures

As Dorothy will consent- there really is no place like home! We spent a relaxing summer enjoying the simple pleasures of home. Spending many days kayaking and paddle boarding in the Navesink River. The town we live in, in New Jersey lies on a Peninsula surrounded rivers and the ocean. Which would explain why we are die hard water babies. There is nothing more relaxing than a day spent kayaking with the one you love.

13. Concerts

This year we were lucky enough to go three concerts, but even luckier to get to go to two of them for free!! Over the course of 2015 we saw Juicy J, Sublime/ Rebelution/ Pepper, and The Chainsmokers/ R city/ Icona Pop. We saw Juicy J at Irving Plaza in New York City with a group of friends. We saw Sublime, Rebelution and Pepper at the PNC Banks Art center. We were fortunate enough to receive FREE front row tickets to the show! It was an amazing show! Lastly, we saw the Chainsmokers, R City and Icona Pop at the Ritz club in Ybor city. It was a free concert provided by a local radio station! While the whole club and drinking scene is not really our thing, we do love a good concert!

14. Zoë’s First Wave

Dating an enthusiastic surfer like Peter, I was bound to end up riding waves with him sooner or later. Over the summer, we frequently borrowed a long board surfboard from a friend for me to use. On my first day, I rode my first wave! It was so amazing to join Peter in the water, doing what makes him the happiest. I hope this year to surf with him many more times! Through all the amazing adventures and memories we shared together this year our favorite adventure has been being in love with each other. We stuck by each other’s sides during all the highs and lows this year brought us. 2015 was the first full calendar year that we spent together, and I wouldn’t of wanted anyone else by side everyday this year.

Peter- You are the most amazing person I have ever met, I am the luckiest girl in the whole world because I get to call you mine. I can’t wait for all the memories and amazing adventures we will share in 2016. Keep being you’re awesome self. Love you forever and ever

Zoë- You make me the happiest boy in the world. Your so sweet, caring and perfect in every way imaginable. I enjoyed every adventure we went on so much because of the thrill and excitement, but most importantly because I got to be there with you. I love you until the end of time Zoe and I can’t wait to keep exploring with my adventure buddy.
